JESUS, THE GREAT ‘I AM”
Jesus revealed Himself to His disciples and audience in different ways and with different pointers, each pointing to God. Jesus for His several introductions used the phrase “I AM.”
We remember that “I AM WHO I AM” is God’s name, given to Moses. (Exodus 3:14). The Love of Jesus
Let us see how Jesus used the same name. Here are in various ways Jesus introduced Himself as “I AM:”
I am “The Light of the world” (John 8:12), Jesus is the source of spiritual illumination and direction.
I am “The good shepherd” (John 10:7). He is the Savior that laid down His life to save sinners.
I am “The resurrection and the life” (John14:6). He gives life, He is the gate to eternal life
I am “The bread of life” (John 6:35). Jesus is the source of every believer’s spiritual life.
I am “The way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). Jesus said that He is the only way to God and for man’s salvation.
